Post-Circuit Breaker Safe Management Measures
Singapore's tripartite partners - Ministry of Manpower (MOM), National Trade Union Congress, and Singapore National Employers federation recently announced that employers must put in place safe management measures at workplaces to prevent COVID-19 from spreading in the community. Such measures need to be in place before operations can resume.
Safe Management Measures include implementing a detailed monitoring plan to ensure compliance with the measures and appointing a Safe Management Officer (SMO) to assist in the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the safety measures.
And if these measures are not well implemented, MOM, Ministry of Health, and sector agencies will not hesitate to take action against businesses that do not comply.
